The Town of Greenwich has done a number of sneaky and quasi-illegal 
actions to keep non-Greenwich residents from using the public beaches in 
their town. The lost data on beach cards may be something of a just 
dessert.

Greenwich officials conceded Wednesday countless hours of work inputting 
data about who has renewed their beach cards or which children are 
enrolled in town-organized recreational programs is more than likely lost 
forever despite a painstaking salvage operation that is under way.
