"So, I wonder, is it not just as useful to pull out your own copy of
GARP and make your best judgment?"

Rikki...

A good thought but I found the GARP health checkup tool to be lacking in
many ways. The questions were far too vague, you had to answer yes or
no to questions which required broader answers and the questions were
far too short to give a reliable answer. I know because we just went
through this exercise.

I welcome this change by ARMA. They are often chastised by many members
of this Listerv for lack of tool development. As Larry has pointed out
earlier, it may not be perfect, but at the very least they are trying to
move this profession further into the limelight with our organizations.

As for the price, it is a bit steep for my liking. The basic package
would not work in our environment, so we would have to go with the
"premier" package. Will we spend a grand for this every year or
two...still to be determined.
