ISACA's CGEIT is The Certification of Governance of Enterprise IT. IT governance (COBIT 5) is not the same as information governance (IG).

We are not reinventing what already is. There is a significant difference between the governance of information technology and the governance of information.

This has already been done and ISACA owns it as well as the information governance credential that goes with it.  When there is already a recognized credential in place using information governance frameworks that are already recognized by professional audit, risk management, information technology and security groups, etc....why are we re-inventing a separate framework?
