Many construction companies request all documents be paperless. Plans are sent as AutoCAD files or PDF's for management who may not have CAD reading software.

All of the Plans I develop on Vaults are sent to the client first as a PDF and when that is approved we send the owner's architect the CAD files and the Owner already has his file in his computer.

Some construction project no longer allow invoicing by paper, you simply submit into their Invoicing and software. Some pay by wire transfer.

Most of my vault plans never exist as paper files. That has come back to benefit clients as they approach us to move a vault or expand a vault that has been in one location and now they wish to move it. We simply send their current files as PDF's and since they lost their hardcopy drawings of years ago, the Engineering begins again with an accurate set of drawings.

So the Construction Industry, Architectural Industry and the Vital Records Vaulting business has moved to paperless.

This November's Election is being fought on the Digital Frontier. He who is best on the Digital Frontier will probably win.

Frank Abignale of the FBI and famous for his early career depicted in the movie "Catch Me If You Can" has given several speeches ( I heard him once after Clinton won and once after Bush W. won) in which he describes America as follows: "40% of Americans are Democrats, their parent and grandparents were Democrats and 40% of Americans are Republicans, their parent and grandparents were Democrats and 20% are in the middle. This 20% believes that the wrestling on WWE is real. These are the Bubba factor and they swing the election. It is why Clinton won because the Bubba's identified with him and not Bush H. and; it is why Bush W. beat Gore. So America's fate swings on the Bubba vote."

I think that the Digital vote is going to swing this election. But is the Democrat, Republican, Tea Party and the Issues parties more digital than the opponent. Will our computers be flooded with political email. It appears that the computers in the sky already know how each of us vote and we receive mail from that direction so I believe we can say digital has taken over politics. I think that could be bad for America.

Certainly medical has gone digital and it has its positives and negatives. The new privacy laws and HIPAA are already affecting medical research and university research programs as data bases are scrubbed of identifiers. Great news for breast cancer because when you remove the identifier of sex (male and female) it will appear that the incidence of breast cancer has gone down as men do not experience it as much as women and therefore the stats will be skewed. University research has troubles as every research study starts out with disadvantages on medical research due to concerns about Medical privacy.
