Thanks Josh, I'll dig into content types more. I think I've gotten too caught up in the workflow and need to step back thru the basic configuration. I setup a content type called RFI that has a retention period and I was going to kickoff the workflow once the retention period expired but got stuck on the process for managing the disposition when the record expires. Thanks!

Ann,
It sounds like you may want to look into content types a little deeper.
For instance if you have a content type of purchase order, the document
will automatically inherent the prescribed retention from that content
type and can kick off a work flow once the life cycle of the document has
concluded. Content types can also function through multiple stages, so it
can move a document to the record center automatically after some period
of time has passed if you choose to utilize them in that manner.
