I understand.  Just thought I would point out to all that federal law does not mean universal law for all activities of the federal government.  It's the same with states.  Some have very voluminous and specific exceptions to their FOIA or Sunshine Acts and others are very broad.  Also, in response to Laren's post, I don't think requests to view historical information in a public archive is considered a request under FOIA in most states.  So some of the more stringent requirements would not apply.
