The head of the National Archives of Australia, David Fricker, has warned
that digitally archived historical records could become inaccessible if the
technology used to hold information isn’t properly upgraded.

The nation’s chief record keeper is worried that vital information about
Australia’s history may be lost without effective plans to preserve
documents in electronic formats.
