SUMMARY:  Learn various approaches to move your information governance forward in any industry, from The Principles level 2 to level 3 and beyond. Use the Information Governance Maturity Model to craft a direct, modular, cost effective program using your existing RM resources and processes. You'll walk away with ideas for reducing the cost associated with managing discovery.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:  Upon completion of this session, participants will identify how to:
1. Reduce cost associated with managing discovery, holds, and disposition
2. Highlight differences in managing information in regulated vs. non-regulated industries
3. Use different tools and best practices to meet your Information Governance goals

SPEAKERS: Anita Castora, CRM & Carolyn Mariani, CRM
Anita P. Castora, CRM, CBCP is Manager, Document Management, American Eagle Federal Credit Union. Anita has been a records manager over 20 years within the RIM industry, and has extensive experience managing records in multiple industries in all facets of records management. She is the past president of the Connecticut ARMA Chapter, Akron-Canton, Cleveland, and Stamford-White Plains as well as having held other Board positions. Anita is currently co-Vice President of Membership with ARMA Metro New York Chapter. Anita has been a frequent recipient of the "Chapter Member of the Year" awards for her contributions. She authored a chapter on Records Management for the treatise eDiscovery for Corporate Counsel, published by West Fios, is a regular contributor to the ARMA CT and Metro New York newsletters, has been a presenter at several ARMA Intl. conferences and has been project manager as well as contributor to multiple task forces for ARMA Intl. Anita grew up in Ohio, and relocated to Connecticut about ten years ago. She enjoys living in New England with her husband in Norwich, CT.

Carolyn A. Mariani, CRM, is Director, Records Management, Warner Music Group. Carolyn has over 40 years experience in the information management field and has been a member of ARMA since 1986. She was active in the former "Stamford-White Plains" Chapter, during which she received a Chapter Member of the Year Award. She joined the Connecticut Chapter in 2004 and in 2009 received the ARMA International Newsletter of the Year award for a large chapter, as well as the award for Chapter Member of the year. A former law librarian, her experience in records management has cut across a variety of regulated and non-regulated industries, including chemicals, air gases, cosmetics, legal, pharmaceuticals and now music. She has also provided records management consulting to a number of corporations and government agencies.
