Good afternoon,

One of the things I've struggled with over the years-not just here at Colonial, but other places too, is finding better ways to communicate changes to a records retention schedule, to all who need to know. Of course the office of record that requested the changes will know of them, and we post updated RRS on our Records Management SharePoint site. Those in the approval process will also know of changes to RRS as well. However, there may be other users (particularly field personnel) who-while not in the office of record, may have a need to be aware of any changes to it particularly if the retention period changes.

I used to send out email notices company-wide to announce changes to the RRS, and I've also set up SharePoint to send alerts whenever a new RRS is posted. I figure that there has got to be a better way, and am just curious as to what others are doing to keep users in the loop.

As usual, your comments and feedback are much appreciated.

Thanks.
Earl
