Kimberly, here's a recently published of interest:  "Burdens of Proof - Cryptographic Culture and Evidence Law in the Age of Electronic Documents", Jean-François Blanchette (a Canadian at UCLA), 2012, MIT Press. It's available on Amazon for the astonishingly small amount of US $27.00 (there's a Kindle version which costs less).



I use the e-sign function in Adobe Acrobat Professional to authorise payment of invoices, but I'm probably alone in the company.
