Has anyone else watched this program on BBC America? I just happened upon it and lucked into a great episode about the safety of digital formats (as well as some other stuff, including how easy it is to hack into cellphones). They tried 7 different methods to eradicate all information from storage devices (external drives, internal hard drives, thumb drives), then turned the results over to a forensics company to see if they could resurrect usable info. Rudimentary, to some extent, but entertainingly presented and the first time I've seen this topic addressed in a mass media entertainment venue.
