But, John, as you have heard me say:  Moses, being a good records manager, had a disaster recovery hot spot at the ready.  After smashing the tablets, he went back up Mt. Sinai to get a backup copy.  We still call it "backup" today.

Until, that is, Moses implemented his records disposition policy in respect of them.
