Glen, you should definitely visit Alcatraz (http://www.sanfrancisco.travel/icons/Alcatraz.html).
If you rent a car, the wine-making counties near and South of San José (Santa Clara, Santa Cruz) have wineries you can visit (much closer than the traditional Napa and Sonoma wineries). For example, the Loos Family Winery is located in San Jose (http://www.sanfrancisco.com/loos-family-winery-llc-b24360912).
In San Francisco, the Exploratorium (http://www.exploratorium.edu/), a personal favourite of mine.
Also in San Francisco, Japantown (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japantown,_San_Francisco), which I, personally, prefer to Chinatown (your taste may vary).
If you have time to travel to Monterey, the Aquarium (http://www.montereybayaquarium.org/).

Subject: California ARMA chapter (Bay Area-San Jose)-Recommendations on places to see as well
Will be visiting San Jose for 10 days (July 14-23). Is there an ARMA chapter in the Bay Area or San Jose area that may be having a meeting in the evening? I may like to attend.
Also if you have any recommendations on what to see I would appreciate it. Already heard about Winchester House, Lassen Volcanic Park(a bit far to go though).
