Haste triggers fear for service records - Times Of India

KOLKATA: Amid confusion over the secretariat shift, the officials and staff
are now worried over their service books, which they apprehend, might go
missing <http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Missing> in the process.

So, service books are more important for them, compared to other files.
Officials are worried that if their service books are lost, then they will
not get their service benefits and even their
pension<http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Pension>can be
stalled. "Also, promotions may take a hit and it will be difficult
to get dues from the government," an official said. Those who are getting
pension, might find themselves in a soup if their existing service books
are lost. they too have their service books in the state secretariat and
they too might be in trouble if it is lost.
