I've been on and off the list half a dozen times, but the most recent time was probably three or four years ago, and I imagine that there are a bunch of new faces, so I'll do the whole intro bit.

David McLallen - In Records Management industry starting in 1978 when I worked as a microfilmer on rotary, planetary and step-and-repeat cameras, filming maps and doctoral theses for the University of Northern Colorado. I started at Boulder County in 1986 and am still here. Started out with just me with some temps and interns, eventually added a full-time staffer, then another. By that time I was running a Records Center with about 6,000 boxes. Worked very well until 2006 when another department - with a whole lot more pull than I had - decided they wanted my space, so my box storage was out-sourced, my staff was laid off and I became a one-person department - which was the reason I dropped off the list. Doing it all myself, I didn't have time to keep up with the list. Now I'm back to the beginning, working with temps and interns, and learning that it all isn't as easy at 57 as it was at 30.

Having been on and off the list several times, and noting that I still see many of the same faces (I'm looking through the Romper Room Magic Mirror and I see Peter, and Alice, and Virginia, and Tod, and Paula (hi, Paula!), and Carol, and Jesse and so many others!

I remember the wonderful on-topic discussions, the wonderful off-topic discussions, the wonderful Friday funnies and the not-quite-so-wonderful political discussions (and the first time I hear that Obama is a Socialist, I will respond "if only....." Hell, he's barely a Democrat!) Think of it this way - I work in Boulder, Colorado. What's more, I belong in Boulder, Colorado.
