Well done Brian! You lasted longer than I would have under those conditions. Thanks for hanging in there.

Subject: [RM] THANK YOU...RAISED $1.524 FOR THE ADA TOUR DE CURE & COMPLETED 50 MILES...

Aloha Listserv Friends!

Just thought I'd share my final results from doing the ADA Tour de Cure bike ride this past Saturday...

Despite the following happening to me on the Tour de Cure:
- Got stuck in a rainstorm and got soaking wet during the 1st 15 miles
- Had a bike accident occur in front of me, so I stopped to assist
- Had severe leg cramps & had to take an extended break at a rest stop
- Had 4 flat tires, which I had to stop and repair on the SAME tire (rear)
- Had it "heat up" on the last 15 miles, so I ended the race totally dehydrated...(88 degrees & approx. 80% humidity)

Nonetheless, I finished the ride as the LAST person to cross the line...But I HAD TO finish the ride because of the many folks on this Listserv who supported me and told me of their private stories of their battle with diabetes...

I still hurt in some unmentionable ways, but...I'm still standing. Dunno, if I'll do another ride like that without a "decent" and lighter bike.

Aside from that, the ride was fun and I had a good time. We did well on our fundraising thanks to my Listserv friends.

THANK YOU for your those who donated and support...I hope all is going well for you.

Much Aloha!

Brian
