One reason you may not find much is that you cannot delete files from many CD's or DVD's.  Just tell them to drop them in the shred bin (assuming the shred company can do that).  One of the most cumbersome actions during a discard day is having people make decisions on whether it should be shredded or not. I proposed that on discard days that there are one type of bins and they are shred bins. No need for people to be wasting time making a judgment call.
