I can't see this statement you quote in the Rainbyte link. There is a statement "The destroyed documents consisted of interoffice communications, salary comparisons and the former director's personal records, Collins said" that implies that copies of SOME of the shredded material MAY exist. But the "personal records" would not necessarily have copies elsewhere. However, I stand by my opinion that, worded the way the quoted request was, it sounds silly.
