Asking Employees for Social Media Credentials to Fight Cybercrime May
Backfire
Despite seemingly good intentions, CISPA is quite controversial. Several
prominent trade groups and technology companies, including the U.S. Chamber
of Commerce, TechNet, Comcast, AT&T, Verizon, Intel, and Symantec, have
expressed support for the legislation, arguing that it is necessary to
combat the surge in cyberattacks. However, numerous organizations and
companies, including the American Civil Liberties Union, the Electronic
Frontier Foundation, and Mozilla, actively oppose the act.
