Organized jointly by the International Council on Archives and the National Archives of Belgium, ICA’s annual conference will be held on the 23rd and 24th of November of this year and will welcome more than 50 archival specialists from around the world.

One November 23rd, Miriam Nisbet, first Director of the Office of Government Information Services (OGIS) at the US National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) will present “More Than a Seat at the Table: Archivists at the Heart of Open Government”: There are now more than 50 countries which have joined the Open Government Partnership and have made commitments to promoting transparent, effective and accountable government. The pursuit of “open government” has many aspects:
-  using technology to make government work better and more efficiently
-  disclosing vast amounts of data in formats that can be used by citizen entrepreneurs
-  finding more inclusive and cooperative processes to help government agencies develop workable solutions on controversial and complex issues
-  making government records more readily available to shine light on government operations and root out corruption

AC2013: Un programme prestigieux pour une conférence inédite !

Le 23 novembre, Miriam Nisbet, première Directrice du Bureau des services d'information du gouvernement (OGIS) à la National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) des Etats-Unis nous présentera son travail « Plus qu’une place à table : les Archivistes au cœur d’un Gouvernement Ouvert » : On compte aujourd’hui plus de 50 pays qui ont rejoint l'Open Government Partnership et se sont engagés à promouvoir un gouvernement transparent, efficace et responsable. La poursuite d’un «gouvernement ouvert» présente de nombreux aspects :
- utiliser la technologie pour que le gouvernement travaille mieux et plus efficacement
- publier de grandes quantités de données dans des formats qui peuvent être utilisés par des citoyens entrepreneurs
- trouver des processus plus inclusifs et coopératifs pour aider les organismes gouvernementaux à développer des solutions pratiques sur des questions complexes et controversées
- rendre les documents gouvernementaux plus facilement disponibles pour faire la lumière sur les opérations gouvernementales et éradiquer la corruption
… Cette présentation explorera les diverses politiques d'information qui relient le mouvement d’un gouvernement ouvert avec la gestion des dossiers. »
