Curious, do dogs live on another planet (their year should be the same as ours), Now I realize cats do but that's another topic.  To answer your question if dogs ran records management all records retention would be shortened(at least for humans). A year in dog years is 52.14286 days. Retention of 10 years would be 521.428 days where in people years it would be 3650 days, so quite a bit shorter.
