School district sends bill for $12,500 to compile public information

“What struck me is that $12,500 is ludicrous,” Hetrick said. “It shocked
me. I was very disappointed that the district is seeking that route because
the public needs this information. It’s obvious to me that the
administration over there is throwing up a roadblock to keep our group and
the public from seeing information they have a right to.”

By Hetrick’s estimate, compiling the requested FOI would involve an
estimated pay rate of $66.67 an hour, equivalent to an annual salary of
more than $129,000 per year for one employee to compiled the data.
