Not sure if there's a link, but what Mel is experiencing at Verisign sounds frightfully similar to what we're experiencing.

We are experiencing similar issues with e-Docs, OpenText's other DM solution, in connection with Outlook and MS's other products (Word, PPT, Excel, SP). We are in the process of migrating from Lotus Notes to Outlook, as well as having had SP launched a few months ago. Testing over the summer went well, then just before Outlook migrations that began in September, e-Docs and Outlook were, and still are, creating service disruptions. We have an e-docs Add-In on Outlook that seemed to create hiccups, and now have lock-ups in the MS applications even when Outlook and/or e-Docs are not actively in use. Or e-Docs is not available within Outlook, Outlook crashes, e-Docs buttons/tab in MS Office products disappears.

Our IT team, plus Microsoft and OpenText are all poking and checking the systems, but no one can find the smoking gun.
