I have had the joy or pain of doing this several times. The organized chaos was hysterical but my best advice is do it on the weekend when no none is working, make it a work day for extra credit. Take bungee cords and secure the containers, if there is space in the containers stuff old newspaper or towels in it to hold them in place, put stickers on the boxes (there are some really good ones that are like strong post-it notes) with whatever your identification marks are for each person. If possible, have each employee box their personal desk top in boxes with their own identification (for grins and giggles I used a color coded system and had what looked like luggage tags that I put different colors of paper in for them to use. Each employee had their own color that I ASSIGNED! It worked like a charm. Depending on who is doing the move have the professionals moves the records and the employees move their personal items, then when Mary Jane's coffee cup gets broken she has only herself to blame!
