I don't think I saw anyone mention that a year or so ago it was discovered that people were posting so much information about their workplace on LinkedIn that hackers could call them on a weekend with enough "inside" knowledge of the place that they could pass themselves off as fellow employees in another department, working on a last-minute critical report/project/presentation that had to be done by Monday morning, but they forgot a password that they needed to get some vital information. So real employees would actually give these people passwords without wondering why the person didn't call someone in their own department (although the person could always say that they tried and couldn't get anyone.)

Multiple people from the same company posting too much information made the impersonations easier and more believable.
