In 1998 my search for full time employment coincided with the my pharmaceutical company's restriction of hiring within for an entry level records manager. Had no real understanding of the field but was captured by the breadth of responsibilities of the job. Two of the first things I was told to do after being hired was to join ARMA and this listserv. I was fortunate to grow up professionally in an environment that could have been the poster child for good records management practices.
