I was heavily into content management for many years. The mantra was "capture, capture, capture". Eventually I realized that we had accumulated huge amounts of information with great weight and limited use. Then I discovered records management, a way to maximize the benefit and lower the risks of information.

Content management is a tool belt. Records management is a discipline that uses tools. Both are needed. As the Most Interesting Records Manager in the World might say, "I don't always deal in information. But when I do, I prefer records management. Stay disciplined, my friends."
