You wind up signing the wrong contract.

We had a case like this years ago when I was working for the court system in Colorado. The courts upheld the contract as signed.  A prominent Denver lawyer got sued by his client for malpractice for $7 million for bringing the wrong version of the contract to the signing.  They won, too.
