Wow... I'm with Larry and am disappointed at the Detroit bashing. I grew up in Toledo--about 50 miles south of Motown, and as I had relatives there so I may be slightly biased, but I had a great conference in Detroit too. No doubt Detroit has seen its share of economic woes over the years, but who hasn't? Like someone else said, Motown had/has a bad--and undeserved reputation, and it's unfortunate that some [apparently] couldn't see past that. The Detroit ARMA Chapter worked hard to help make that Conference a success, where's the love for them and their efforts?
I know I am dating myself here, but does anybody else remember the performance of Martha & The Vandellas at the Awards Banquet dinner that year? I do, and they were awesome!!!
Thanks.
