Ann,

I could see where using the term "Private" in your category title might 
cause some confusion with PII, which, as an E&C Dept, they probably don't 
have.

You might consider the term "Non-Public Records." That would be a broad 
category (if that is what you want) that would encompass all business 
records not intended for public consumption.

We are in the planning phase of migrating records from an existing EDMS 
(Open Text Hummingbird) to SharePoint for our Engineering and Construction 
Department and they have really opened up what we had defined as Private 
or Confidential records. I'm considering the broader definition for 
security and permissions. For example, they consider copyrighted materials 
((manuals, catalogue sheets, brochures, etc) as private records and we did 
not when preparing our RIM program definitions.
