It really bothers me that when something breaks these days we either throw the entire item away or replace a module rather than buying a parts and rebuilding whatever it was.
Now I have all the modern tools and toys. My daily driver is new as is my dishwasher. I have a gas fireplace with a remote control. All fine and well, but I still have a landline, a working Trimline wall phone (hey it has dial tone when the power goes out), vintage stereo gear complete with turntables (yes they still make cartridges and the new ones are amazing), and an old hobby car that does not talk to a computer. My favorite guitar amp has tubes and yes replacements can still be found.

I agree on the Audi/VW/Porsche - nice shrouds under the hood hides the desire to apply spaghetti sauce :)

Rock on!
Sharon
