City preparing to settle lawsuit over destruction of police records -
Springfield, IL - The State Journal-Register
Mayor Mike Houston said Friday that he anticipates filing an ordinance next
week that would settle one of Springfield’s ongoing legal battles with
Calvin Christian III, who sued the city earlier this year alleging that
officials improperly destroyed police records he had requested through the
Illinois Freedom of Information Act.
