Frankly, I'd live and work wherever I could find it.  Currently I'm in MA and do enjoy it.  I would find it hard to move to a new location.  

When we moved to our present home, both my husband and I said we would never move again.  But that word Never can come back to haunt you.  I also grew up in NC and I do miss the climate, but love the seasons change here.
