Ruling won't change UI handling of records requests
In a July decision involving a construction supply business’ lawsuit
against the city of Dyersville, the state’s high court concluded that a
20-day deadline specified under Iowa law is for government entities to
determine whether a confidential record should be made available to the
person requesting it, and not to produce the records themselves.
