Thom, I do have a problem with quotas.  As professionals we should be looking at the landscape to determine where we have gaps and then work to close those gaps (for some it may be technology, for others it may be presenting or writing a whitepaper).   Let the individual decide where they need to focus. Most of us know what we need to do to be successful.  Where the rubber meets the road is when a position pops up that you wish you had the  skillset and you don't.  You then work to develop that skillset. IMO
