Just so I don't sound like I believe that the history of technology should be abandoned, there is a balance. It's true - as records managers we should be have knowledge of more than just the latest and greatest technologies. Our world can be rich with challenges and legacy systems and information do present themselves. You never know what you may need to deal with. My background is in micrographics and computer operations/communications.

I volunteered to lead the an ARMA chapter's study group for Part V. As a nice introduction, we're holding a chapter meeting at the Living Computer Museum in Seattle. I couldn't think of a better way to introduce our past. An advantage most don't have, but the museum is here so why not.

Rock on!
Sharon
