Archivists Round Table of Metropolitan New York, Inc. (A.R.T.) Education Workshop Four-Part Series, co-sponsored by the ARMA Metro NYC Chapter:

Records & Information Management Basics for Non-Records Managers
Part 1 - January 30th, 2014, 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
The Archivists Round Table of Metropolitan New York, Inc. (A.R.T.) and the ARMA Metro Chapter are co-sponsoring a four-part workshop series on basic records management for non-records managers.

The series will be presented by Lauren Barnes, CRM, Vice President for Records & Information Management at Credit Suisse.  Lauren is also an Adjunct Professor at Queens College.

This series will introduce records management basics to those responsible for managing records and information within their organizations.  These sessions will provide the principles, concepts, tools, components, governance and policies needed to develop and implement a comprehensive program, and address the challenges and issues of modern record-keeping. A light lunch will be served.

Part 1:  Introduction, why RIM is important, basic concepts, components, principles, drivers, regulations

Part 2:  Governance & policy development, working with stakeholders, policy implementation

Part 3:  Roadmap to managing onsite records, vendor management, inventory, synergy with e-records

Part 4:  Electronic records:  pain points & opportunities, email, metadata management, best practices

Cost:

$25 for Students

$25 for A.R.T. Members and ARMA Chapter Members

$30 for Non-Members
