Dear Abdhul,
A few years ago, I was doing a test for a colleague of mine that was selling water resistant (not water proof) corrugated file boxes. The boxes were archivable quality and food grade. I took a standard size file box, filled my bath tub and put the box in the tub for a few days.
I was a bit skeptical at first, but the box easily held for three days with no leaks, day four was a little moist and by day 5 the box had absorbed water. The box would be enough to get you through a long weekend if a pipe burst and you had boxes on the floor or under sprinklers. Obviously the boxes should be stored properly to minimize damage, but I was amazed at how well the boxes actually worked.
The company's name was Green-Earth Packaging, I don't know if they are around anymore, but I do know that my team members at 2-20/Storetrieve in Arizona and at MBS in Colorado were resellers at one point. If anyone really wants to test these boxes and can't reach a reseller let me know and I can reach out to my colleague for an update.
All the best -ilona

Hi everybody,
I am doing a risk assessment of our records centre. One of the item is to find out how long (duration - 1 hour, 2 hrs, etc.) can water seep through a corrugated box where we put our records in? I have look everywhere but unable to find anything yet. Thanks.
