Look at the educational use part of copyright.

Back in 2002 the American Chemical Society had a chemistry errors in movies (or possibly popular culture) talk at their annual meeting, education session. They showed very short clips of movies including Medicine Man. Not sure how they got around the copyright issues. I have little knowledge of copyright law, but is there a maximum length for a clip that is permissible to use in a "public" venue such as a conference?

I agree, I thought that would be a great presentation at an ARMA conference, just not sure how to do that without getting in trouble with someone due to copyright issues.
I actually mentioned destroying records with 223 or 556 as I saw in Red 2. Lots of good material just need to put it together.

There are records management elements also in the movies R.E.D., R.E.D. 2, Stranger Than Fiction, and "2012" just to name a few that I've spotted. It might be fun to have a complete list of "RIM" movies someday.

In R.E.D. Ernest Borgnine is the records manager, in R.E.D.2 an entire records center gets destroyed - gets shot up (that probably wasn't in their disaster recovery plan). In Stranger Than Fiction, we see IRS agents find a 10 year old audit file (paper folder) in virtually seconds. In 2012 John Cusack does some quick retreival research while the state of Wyoming in being blown back to the stone age (a must-see).
