Here's a great way to strengthen the relationship between your RIM team and
your IT group and it won't cost you or your organization anything.  

Download Randy Moeller's PC Records Review Utility (you can read about it
here: http://bit.ly/1of4JtS) and learn the AutoIt scripting language (it is
really very simple).  Configure Randy's script to suit your organization's
needs - maybe 4 year old records are too old and you want to lower it to
three, for instance.  Then ask IT to compile the code and push the
executable out to your user's machines.  

IT will respect your initiative, as well as understand that, by reducing the
volume of content on your users' machines, you are really helping make their
lives easier.  

And, as a bonus, you'll be defensibly deleting large volumes of content
across your organization, so the folks in Legal will be happy, too.
