Good afternoon all,

It's a little late on a Friday, but feel free to come back to it on Monday.

I have an attorney who would like to see sample policies from other corporate counsels/law firms on the retention of litigation files. We're looking to have a leaner retention policy (so that our litigation files can be much less bloated) and more closely aligned with the ABA and Lee Nemchek/Beth Chiaese's publication, Records Management in the Legal Environment. Since we're a cautious company with a cautious counsel, they'd like to see how other counsels/firms handle this specific retention topic. That is, a shorter retention (date driven if practicable) for the core pieces of information, and even shorter retention for the less substantive or duplicative info.

I look forward to your responses.

Happy Friday and Happy Mother's Day (to come),
Stephen
