We in former ARMA Region IV were having a Regional educational conference
in Memphis; think it was 1998 or so. We HQd at the Peabody; where they
have those ducks parade around.
A bunch of us were in the hotel bar late one afternoon and a loud quacking
started over the intercom; over and over and over. We were making book on
whether the ducks were taking over; grab the hotel intercom first, then the
local radio and TV stations. Bar staff and waitresses did not know what it
was. Turns out it was the fire alarm; quack, quack, quack.. We grabbed
our drinks; got another one; and went outside and waited until the all
clear. I still think it was the ducks pulling hijinks; making trouble.
Culprit was probably Donald or Daffy.
Have a great weekend.
I hate paper (unless it is a check instrument transmitting $$$ to me)
Best regards, Steve
