Carol,

But isn't that what records (and information) managers do (or are suppose
to do)?  I work with all of the key stakeholders (e.g. accounting and
finance, IT, legal, HR, operations, etc.) to identify what information is
created, managed, protected, and ultimately disposed of.  I would never
consider myself an information governance manger.  RIM, IMHO, is all about
risk mitigation, an insurance policy so to speak, which appears what IG is
about as well.
