Curiosity is only useful to the extent that you can do something about it. I would certainly hope that the law firm was checking to make sure they didn't have any confidential information in there, but then the best thing to do is to let it go. I'm not Super-Records-Man and certainly don't have the authority to scream - "Wait, citizen! I am a Records Manager! I must check all those records to make certain that they do not contain any sensitive information!" I would be stepping outside my moral (and probably legal) boundaries by doing so.
