Washington Decoded: Naftali Reconsidered Since late April, Reuters, the *Orange County Register*, *The Nation*, *Los Angeles Times*, and *The New Yorker* have published articles lamenting the lack of a director at the Richard M. Nixon Library (RMNL <http://www.nixonlibrary.gov/>) in Yorba Linda, California.[1] <http://www.washingtondecoded.com/site/2014/06/naftali.html#fn1> All the articles (excepting Jeffrey Frank’s slightly more nuanced *New Yorker* <http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/comment/2014/05/who-owns-richard-nixon.html> piece) have the same narrative, almost as if they were part of an orchestrated campaign. The uncommon delay in finding a new permanent director (going on three years) is the fault of Nixon partisans, so the story goes, who are holding out for a congenial person to rehabilitate the only president to resign in disgrace. And the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA <http://www.archives.gov/presidential-libraries/about/office.html>) is being stymied in its admirable effort to present Nixon in an objective, unvarnished light. http://bit.ly/1lCozdm Source: http://www.washingtondecoded.com/site/2014/06/naftali.html See if people are clicking on this link: http://bit.ly/1lCozdm+ Try the bitly.com sidebar to see who is talking about a page on the web: https://bitly.com/pages/sidebar -- Peter Kurilecz CRM CA IGP [log in to unmask] Dallas, Texas Save our in-boxes! http://emailcharter.org http://twitter.com/RAINbyte http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/RAINbyte/ http://paper.li/RAINbyte/rainbyte http://pinterest.com/pakurilecz/archives/ http://pinterest.com/pakurilecz/records-management/ http://www.linkedin.com/in/peterakurilecz Information not relevant for my reply has been deleted to reduce the electronic footprint and to save the sanity of digest subscribers List archives at http://lists.ufl.edu/archives/recmgmt-l.html Contact [log in to unmask] for assistance To unsubscribe from this list, click the below link.
