Greetings to the RIM Listserv congregation. Over the years, there have been many professionals who have made significant contributions to the RIM profession. It is important to publicly acknowledge these valuable colleagues, professional resources, friends, mentors and leaders as they move on from our treasured profession. In this situation, one of records management's most dynamic & respected leaders is retiring. Mark's teaching, consulting, publications, mentoring, enthusiasm, and motivating will be greatly missed!"

I have been exceedingly blessed by Mark's contributions and his motivational pep talks over the years (30 for me) which has allowed me to achieve much higher success in this profession.

Please review Mark's note below and contact him to wish him well in all future endeavors. His contact info is listed below. Thank you. -Duane.

Subject: DR. MARK LANGEMO'S RETIREMENT

Duane Doppler, CRM, former student of mine at UND, and now admired and respected RM colleague, great to hear from you. Hope all is well family-wise, professionally, and personally. Thanks for inquiring about me. Yes, after a very full and satisfying 47-year career involvement in Records Management, I have made the decision to retire from consulting work and from conducting two-day and one-day RM seminars. I deeply appreciate all of my students from my 27 years at the University of North Dakota. And, I am incredibly thankful for the opportunities that came to me through my RM teaching, consulting, writing for publication, and seminar work. I deeply appreciate each and every one whom I was privileged to have with me as seminar participants. Thanks to each one from the bottom of my heart for the support and friendship. I hope I have made multiple positive differences for organizations and for many as individuals. Now--following some of my Baseball Hall of Fame heros (Harmon Killebrew, Rod Carew, Bert Blyleven, Kirby Puckett, and others)--I have decided to "go out on top" even though I'm still blessed with the health and vitality that would have allowed me to continue doing that work. I may not be totally done speaking--because invitations by ARMA chapters and others to attend and speak at reunions and/or celebration events would be very special and meaningful to me. In closing, a heartfelt "thanks again" to all of my former students, seminar participants, and consulting clients/attendees. they have combined to allow me to have a meaningful, exciting, and all-around successful and wonderful career. God bless each and every one.

"Mark"

(Dr. Mark Langemo, CRM, FAI)

Professor Emeritus, The University of North Dakota
