I go to the library check out a book, read it come back to the library to return(check in the book) and they place the book on the shelf. They don't buy an additional book. So what setting am I missing in SharePoint that creates a new version of a document if you check out a file to look at it. I don't think No Versions is the answer. In the settings somewhere there must be a setting to not create a new version when a document is checked in and checked out. My current alternative is to communicate to people that check in check out creates new versions so just view and don't use the check in and out unless a document is being edited.
Has anyone else run into this? Thanks in advance.
Cheers.
Glen
