The guideline provides digital archives, irrespective of their particular organisational set-up or range of tasks, with assistance in creating their own institutional policy on digital preservation. It tackles the questions: - What is the purpose of a policy? - What must a policy cover? - How is a policy produced? A presentation of the guideline will take place at the 4C/DPC conference: ‘Investing in Opportunity: Policy Practice and Planning for a Sustainable Digital Future’ in London (17-18 November 2014). The nestor- workshop at the conference will also feature a presentation by Barbara Siermann (KB) on the SCAPE-Policy Levels. A second topic will be certification with a presentation of the Data Seal of Approval (http://www.datasealofapproval.org) by Ingrid Dillo (DANS) and by myself on the nestor-Seal ( http://www.langzeitarchivierung.de/Subsites/nestor/EN/nestor-Siegel/siegel_node.html). We will also take the opportunity to introduce our guideline on preservation planning: http://files.d-nb.de/nestor/materialien/nestor_mat_15-eng.pdf. All the best Armin *** Lesen. Hören. Wissen.
