Manager of Records and Information Management job in New York City or Boston.

Special Counsel Information Governance is seeking candidates for a Manager of Records and Information Management position either in New York City or Boston.  The ideal candidate will be have strong law firm records and information management experience, along with the ability effectively manage change through knowledge of best practices and professional communication.

Responsibilities:

 *   Manage lifecycle hard-copy and electronic records procedures and processes, firm-wide
 *   Oversee, directly and in-directly, records management staff across multiple offices
 *   Evaluate and make recommendations for new technology in RIM function and manage implementation of new RIM technology
 *   Promote increased reliance on electronic records, across the firm. Raise awareness of imagining, identification and destruction options
 *   Continued development and implementation of firm's retention schedule
 *   Develop training and education for staff on paper to electronic record conversion, development, and performance
 *   Assist in maintaining the departmental budget
 *   Coordinate with outside information management vendors and contacts, as necessary
 *   Travel up to 10%

Qualifications:

 *   BA or BS degree required.  Advanced degree in information management or related field preferred
 *   Professional certification preferred
 *   Management of staff and RIM program over multiple offices, preferred
 *   At least 10 years' experience in records management systems and a minimum of 3 years in a management role
 *   The ability to manage and work on multiple projects simultaneously
 *   Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems such as LegalKey, Worksite RM, iManage optimal.
 *   Excellent verbal and written communications skills
