Never in trouble and not a problem student.
However I have always viewed being converted from a left-handed person to a right-handed person as discipline. Me and another class-mate seated in the rear of our 1st grade class with our left arms secured to the arm of our chairs learning to hold a pencil in the wrong hand because our moms thought it would be too hard on us to go through life in reverse. We got teased so much by the other kids. But somehow we made it through and later on it served me well as I was a switch hitter in softball.
I do remember being 6 years old though and having seen Paul McCartney play bass left handed pointing that out to my mom. Hoping my dad would come to my aid, but all he said is that our guitars are for right-handed people. Never occurred to him I could have learned to play right handed and still wrote left.
Crazy times.
Rock on!Sharon
